Help & FAQ

Gift support that keeps the moment intact.

Find answers about gift delivery, phone-number sign-in, recipient setup, SMS consent, and ringtone licensing.

Gift delivery

JingleGift supports international phone numbers. Automatic SMS delivery is available in supported countries when the recipient already has a verified account with SMS opt-in; otherwise, the sender gets a ready-to-send gift link.

Phone sign-in

Accounts use mobile numbers. A recipient must verify the same number the sender entered before gift details, downloads, and setup steps are shown.

Downloads and setup

Gifted tones can be downloaded after verification. Android and iPhone setup steps vary by device, so JingleGift guides the recipient through the safest available path.

Gift status

Senders can see whether a gift is purchased, accepted, or installed. Installed confirmation closes the loop so the sender knows the ringtone is ready for their calls.

Licensed content

Every ringtone sold on JingleGift must be original, licensed, royalty-free for commercial use, or covered by a creator agreement.

Need help with a gift?

For recipient-number corrections, duplicate charges, failed downloads, rights questions, or account access, contact support with the phone number used for the gift.

Frequently asked questions

Everything a first-time JingleGift sender or recipient needs to know.

Getting started

What is JingleGift?

JingleGift lets you send a small, personal audio gift to someone else. The gift is a premium ringtone they can accept, download, and set up for calls from you.

Do I need an account to send an audio gift?

Yes. Buyers sign in or create an account with a verified mobile number before checkout so gifts, receipts, delivery status, and support requests can be connected to the right sender.

Can I buy a tone for myself?

JingleGift is designed for gifting. Checkout is focused on sending a tone to another mobile number rather than buying tones for your own account.

Sending gifts

How does my friend receive the gift?

JingleGift supports international phone numbers. If the recipient already has a verified, opted-in JingleGift account and automatic SMS delivery is supported for that country, JingleGift can text the gift automatically. Otherwise, you receive a ready-to-send gift link you can share from your own messaging app.

Why might I need to send the gift link myself?

SMS rules generally require clear consent before a service texts someone, and automated delivery rules vary by country. When JingleGift does not already have consent for the recipient phone number, or when automatic SMS delivery is not yet supported for that country, sender-shared delivery keeps the gift moving.

Can I send a gift to an international phone number?

Yes. You can enter international phone numbers in JingleGift. Automatic SMS delivery is available only in supported countries; for other countries, the gift can still be delivered with the private gift link you send personally.

Can I change the recipient phone number after purchase?

Recipient-number changes are handled through support so we can protect the gift, prevent accidental delivery, and preserve the purchase record.

Accepting gifts

Why do recipients sign in with their phone number?

A JingleGift is sent to a specific mobile number. Verifying that number helps make sure only the intended recipient can see the gift details and download files.

What happens if I already have a JingleGift account?

If your phone number is already verified and opted in, gifts sent to that number can be added to your account automatically and shown in My gifts.

Can I access gifts sent to my number later?

Yes. Once you verify the same phone number, gifts sent to that number remain available in your JingleGift account even if the ringtone is later removed from the public store.

Gift status

What do Purchased, Accepted, and Installed mean?

Purchased means checkout succeeded and the gift is associated with the recipient phone number. Accepted means the recipient verified that phone number and opened the gift in their account. Installed means the recipient confirmed the ringtone setup is complete.

Why does JingleGift show installed confirmation?

The best part of the gift is knowing it landed. Installed confirmation lets the sender know their calls are ready to ring with the sound they picked.

Ringtone setup

How does setup work on iPhone?

iPhone ringtone setup depends on the iOS version and Apple’s current ringtone flow. JingleGift provides the download and guided setup steps, and older iOS versions may require extra manual steps.

How does setup work on Android?

Android can support a more direct setup flow when the recipient grants the needed settings permission. JingleGift guides the recipient through the safest available setup path for their device.

Can I set the tone only for the person who sent it?

The intended JingleGift setup is to associate the ringtone with the sender’s contact, so calls from that person play the gifted tone. Recipients may also use their phone settings for other ringtone choices.

Custom audio gifts

Can I create a custom JingleGift with AI?

JingleGift is adding a custom creation flow for signed-in customers. You describe the occasion, relationship, mood, style, and optional original lyrics, then create one 30-second tone at a time.

Why are custom creation tries limited?

Each generated audio clip has a provider cost, so JingleGift includes 5 creation tries per day. Each recent JingleGift purchase unlocks 5 more tries while keeping the feature fair and sustainable.

What content can I put in a custom prompt?

Prompts and lyrics must be original or used with permission. Do not request specific artists, songs, celebrities, brands, movies, shows, games, franchises, copyrighted lyrics, or soundalike content.

Payments and delivery

When is my card charged?

You review and pay securely with Stripe during checkout. The gift is created after payment confirmation.

What happens if the recipient never accepts the gift?

Unaccepted gifts do not expire by default. The gift remains associated with the recipient phone number and can be accepted later after phone verification.

Can I request support for a mistaken purchase?

Yes. Contact support with the sender phone number, recipient phone number, and any checkout details you have. Number corrections, duplicate charges, and unusual delivery issues are handled by support.

SMS and privacy

Why does JingleGift use SMS?

JingleGift uses mobile numbers for account sign-in, gift matching, security verification, delivery notices, and setup updates.

Can I opt out of messages?

Yes. You can reply STOP to opt out of JingleGift SMS messages and HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.

How do I opt back in after opting out?

Text START or UNSTOP to the JingleGift number to receive messages again. This is required to clear the carrier and Twilio opt-out block before JingleGift can send SMS messages to that number again.

Will recipients receive texts if they have not opted in?

JingleGift only sends automatic gift texts to recipients who already have a verified, opted-in account in a supported SMS delivery country. Otherwise, the sender gets a gift link to share personally.

Content and licensing

Are the ringtones licensed?

Ringtones sold on JingleGift must be original, properly licensed, royalty-free with commercial rights, or supported by clear creator agreements.

Can artists submit ringtone content?

Artists and rights holders can start with the For artists page or contact support with sample audio, contact information, and a short rights summary.

Can I upload my own audio?

Self-service uploads are not currently available. JingleGift is starting with reviewed catalog content and artist or rights-holder submissions.
